Renouncing Step 2 - Oath of Renunciation & Statement of Understanding... On March 1, 2001 I went to the U.S. Consulate in Vancouver to complete the additional paperwork, swear under oath my intent to renounce and turn over my U.S. passport. That is exactly what I did. The thumbnails are for the actual forms required for renunciation once you arrive; again I was not able to copy my originals with the exception of the "Statement of Understanding Concerning the Consequences and Ramifications of Relinquishment or Renunciation of US Citizenship". This form is particularly illuminating in terms of how the U.S. government completely dishonours its own legal position. Below the thumbnails is my "Declaration of Expatriation" which I submitted in addition to the required paperwork, it merely begins to explain the reasons why I could not maintain U.S. citizenship in good conscience.

DECLARATION OF EXPATRIATION
March 1, 2001
United States of America Consulate
1095 West Pender Street,
Vancouver, British Columbia,
To whom it may concern:
DECLARATION OF EXPATRIATION
I Kenneth Roy Nichols, a.k.a. the fictitious corporate entity created by the Federal Government without my knowledge and against my will (KENNETH ROY NICHOLS 547-87-2218) declare my intention to formallyrenounce my United States of America citizenship. This written declaration is the fifth such notice. The United States was initially informed of my intent in November of 1999 when a formal written application of repatriation was submitted to the Secretary of the State, Madeline Albreit, in which I declared my allegiance to the Reinstated and Lawful Government of Hawaii otherwise known as the Kingdom of Hawaii. I later received an unsigned letter from the State Department informing me of the dangers of renunciation of citizenship. Having taken these facts into consideration, it has only solidified my will to renounce my U.S. citizenship. This unsigned letter further informed me that in order to formally renounce I would only be able to do so by physically renouncing within a U.S. Consulate or Embassy in a foreign Nation. This I will now fulfill within the country of Canada. In addition to the two written requests I have also served public notice of intent to renounce at the Federal Reconciliation Hearings in Honolulu, December 1999, and the Senate Hearings on Senate Bill 2899 also held in Honolulu, September 2000. Additionally I stated my allegiance to the Lawful Government of Hawaii on live television via channel 2 (KHON), and conversely my non-allegiance to the United States of America. I restate once again through this declaration that I have absolutely no allegiance to the U.S., the country of my birth. These actions constitute a legitimate and serious commitment to achieve the end goal of expatriation.
The Nation to which I repatriate is the de jure Nation of Hawaii. I have sworn my allegiance to this Nation. This Nation has fulfilled its obligations under international law to reinstate itself as the de jure government and soon will demand appropriate action on behalf of the de facto government of the United States of America, and the Nations of the world that acknowledge and comply with the Law of Nations and all applicable international laws. The continuing unlawful occupation of the peaceful and non-threatening Nation of Hawaii is an affront and insult to the lawful Nations of the world and in direct contradiction to the stated U.S. policies, which supposedly support the rights of Nations to co-exist without threat from rouge Nations. Although the United States is fully aware of Hawaii’s Reinstated Government and their lawful status, it continues to ignore its existence as it runs contrary to U.S. economic and strategic interests. Understanding this I expect this written declaration to be rejected on the grounds that the United States does not recognize this government. Should the U.S. indeed use this farce of a reason to deny my expatriation I demand now that you usher me into the realm of statelessness that I shall embrace with pride. Remaining a U.S. citizen is simply not an option.
United States of America Public Law 103-150 (S.J. Res. 19); November 23, 1993. This law, which was approved by both the Congress and Senate and signed into law by former President William Jefferson Clinton, is an undeniable confession to the crime of conspiracy, and admits to the United States committing an act of war against the peaceful ally in the Kingdom of Hawaii. The following is taken directly from this law; “Whereas, on January 14, 1893, John L. Stevens (hereafter referred to in this Resolution as the “United States Minister”), the United States Minister assigned to the sovereign and independent Kingdom of Hawaii conspired with a small group of non-Hawaiian residents of the Kingdom of Hawaii including citizens of the United States, to overthrow the indigenous and lawful Government of Hawaii…”
It goes further to say; “Whereas the indigenous Hawaiian people never directly relinquished their claims to their inherent sovereignty as a people or over their national lands to the United States, either through their monarchy or through a plebiscite or referendum…”
In light of these admissions, it is an act of arrogance and a violation U.S. domestic law to continue its unethical, illegal, and unlawful overthrow and occupation of this peaceful Nation, and deny their rightful claim to their inherent sovereignty. Specifically, Article I of the United States Constitution states; "To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and offenses against the Law of Nations."
Finally, there is a shamefully long and dirty trail left behind the United States that reveals hypocrisy to the highest degree. It is not that the United States is absent of good; it offers much that is good, including comparatively more freedom than most Nations. But the excuse that it is worse elsewhere does not console my conscience. If the U.S. were simply more honest about its dirty dealings of self-interest, I could conceivably continue my citizenship. From the very beginning of U.S. history, our fore fathers claimed the virtues of freedom and democracy while continuing the horrors of slavery and absolute annihilation of all non-white peoples either physically, culturally, or both. The pace was set and to this day continues in a simply more “civilized” yet equally destructive form. It is to all the non-white people and women of the U.S. who continue to know first hand the massive hypocrisy and injustice of my former country that my conscience demands this action of expatriation. The following is a short, incomplete list of why renunciation is necessary.
Global Ecological Destruction - The insanity of U.S. resource consumption that is responsible for unparalleled ecological destruction globally is another factor in this action to expatriate. Violating the Kyoto Accord being a most recent example. To the people of the world and all the life within, I realize that it is primarily the United States and its seemingly oblivious citizens that we owe the majority of resource consumption, consumption related famine, top-soil erosion, rain forest destruction, third world debt, pesticide and chemical proliferation, bio-diversity loss and mass extinction, extinction of aboriginal cultures and the loss of their homelands, and the ever widening division and separation of the wealthy from the poor, my actions are with you in mind.
State Executions - Capital punishment in which only the most uncivilized and barbaric of Nations indulge. While not ignoring the loss of loved ones by those victimized by murderers, I cannot support the perpetuation of murder by a blatantly corrupt and unjust “Justice System” in the U.S. The practice of the death penalty in the U.S. also perpetuates the institutionalized racism that has put a hugely disproportionate percentage of non-whites to death. And now we have the most bloodthirsty Governor of the contemporary U.S. as our sitting President at the helm of a transitional Supreme Court. To all those soon to die as a result of this psychoneurotic President, and those who have died both innocent and guilty, my actions are with you in mind.
Racism - Racism lives and thrives in America. The only people unaware of this stark reality are those blinded by the plague of complacency that the majority of middle-class suburbanites and other mostly white citizens enjoy. My deepest sorrow and pain is felt by this ongoing disgrace that knows its home in the highest levels of government and corporate America (where the real power in America resides). Where are the National Monuments to the slaves who built so much of the wealth of the Nation? And where are the National Monuments to the Native peoples so decimated by the western expansion of Manifest Destiny? Beyond monuments, where is the sincere effort for justice and reparation and division of power so obviously necessary for true healing to occur? It simply does not exist in any substantial form.
Non-human Animal Experimentation - The absolute horrors of non-human animal experimentation and exploitation that translate to death, pain and suffering in ways that once again are unparalleled. It is with great sadness that I acknowledge your terrible plight. You are clearly pawns in the ongoing medical fraud that would have people believe disease cannot be prevented, but instead “treated” with drugs, surgery, or other harmful but profitable procedures. Although only those with a very developed conscience hear your agonizing cries of pain and injustice, you are not forgotten. I am not alone in my undeniable kinship with you, and it is with you in mind that I am acting as I do.
Nuclear Weapons - Lastly is the pure insanity of the United States production of nuclear weapons. Hypocrisy has no greater example than the shameful legacy that the U.S. will ultimately be judged by. Now with president referring to the 1972 Anti Ballistic Missile Treaty as a “relic”, and full scale plans to produce a “Missile Defense” system that will have offensive uses, the world will bow before the U.S. Again, the arrogance and condescending actions of the U.S. are unparalleled. The only Nation in the history of the world to use atomic weapons on civilian populations,… twice! I believe that it is only a matter of time before an individual or group will use the weapons of mass destruction that the U.S. has mass-produced, against the U.S. itself. Should this cause the U.S. to retaliate; the result will be more frightening than anything ever known to human kind. Understanding the realities of this likely scenario, the U.S. has spent ungodly amounts of money building massive underground compounds that will house the ultra rich elite and their puppets. The same people responsible for this nuclear destruction. So that the destroyers of the planet themselves will be sheltered and protected while the innocent are incinerated or to die slowly from the radioactive fallout that will follow. In November 1999 the United States committed what to me was one of the most unforgivable acts of all when its representatives (my former representatives) refused to sign the Global Nuclear Test Ban Treaty overwhelmingly supported around the world. Even in the face of some of our strongest allies in England, France, and Germany and their leaders pleading with the U.S. to sign this treaty, we arrogantly refused. This to me was the last straw. My strongest hope is that the lapdog countries of the world and their leaders bite their current master in the United States so effectively that its selfish nuclear policies are abolished once and for all.
In summary. I have fulfilled the obligation of renunciation on several counts. I have sworn allegiance to the Nation of Hawaii and sworn off any such allegiance to the United States. I have sighted ecological destruction, racial injustice, the death penalty, animal experimentation, and the insanity of nuclear weapons accumulation as reason for the need to divorce myself from America. This again, is by no means a complete list and it is only in the interest of brevity that I shall cut short the multitude of reasons for my action. The United States of Hypocrisy would be a more appropriate name for this country so intent on imposing its selfishly motivated will on all other Nations of the world. All the while never ceasing to profess its embarrassingly false support for “Democracy and Freedom”. But it is to the Supreme Law of all lands, the Law of Nations and International Law that I support and demand this application for renunciation be respected. The Law of Nations to which the United States has obligated itself via its own Constitution. The Law of Nations states;
"But every man is born free, and therefore the son of a citizen, when arrived at the age of reason, may consider whether it is well for him to join the society in which he happens to be by birth. If he does not find that it is to his advantage to remain in it, he has the right to leave it…"
Acknowledging this superior law and the rights it affords me I do not ask for your approval in renouncing. I merely pay my last respects to the country to which I was born and accommodate its expensive rules of renunciation. Once again, I demand statelessness over U.S. citizenship or acknowledgement of my existence as a lawful citizen of the Hawaiian Nation. Either way, I am henceforth, not a United States citizen in any form or shape. The United States cannot and will not change that unless it changes virtually every aspect of its current existence. Perhaps I will one-day return to the country of my birth with pride when it owns up to its crimes throughout history and does indeed “do the right thing”. I will gladly do that if that day should ever come. In the mean time it is with shame that I divorce myself of any involvement in the continuing policies of selfishness to which the United States seems so committed. I state now emphatically that I am a peace loving being and I will never in any way participate in any act of wanton violence against the life that makes this planet so incredibly rare and special. Therefore I commit this declaration to public record so that any attempts to incarcerate me are exposed for what they truly are, a political attack attempting to thwart the consciousness of myself as an individual working for a “New World Order” in which peace and justice prevail. If I am ever incarcerated framed, or killed, it is as a political prisoner or target. May this declaration, serve as my sincerest belief and goals as a peace-loving citizen of this most magnificent planet. Peace, love and justice for all.
